Maria graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, majoring in Media Arts and Production. Maria was admitted in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2009 and she is also admitted in the High Court of Australia.
Maria commenced her legal career gaining experience at a boutique criminal and litigation law firm, then as a legal intern at the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) assisting on defamation, media law and intellectual property matters, and also as a graduate lawyer at a general litigation and conveyancing practice.
Maria went on to practice as a commercial litigator for more than four years at a leading Sydney law firm, where she specialised in providing advice and solutions to a number of large institutional clients, as well as private clients, on a variety of litigated and non-litigated matters predominately in the insurance and financial services industry.
At Aequitas Lawyers, Maria specialises in dispute resolution and commercial litigation. Maria continues to practice as an advocate for her clients and assists her clients in spotting legal risks early and resolving disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Maria is also a nationally accredited Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) and member of the Resolution Institute. Maria is able to provide mediation services to participants who would like assistance from a neutral third party in resolving a dispute or conflict.
