Elaine Lin was admit­ted as a solic­i­tor of the Supre­me Court of New South Wales in 2011 after grad­u­at­ing from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Syd­ney with degrees in Com­merce and Law in 2009.

 

In 2009, Elaine was award­ed the pres­ti­gious New South Wales Wom­en Jus­tices’ Asso­ci­a­tion Prize for an out­stand­ing research essay on the manda­to­ry dis­pute res­o­lu­tion require­ments in chil­dren-relat­ed appli­ca­tions under the Fam­i­ly Law Act 1975 (Cth).

 

Elaine’s cur­rent prac­tice includes the fol­low­ing areas of legal work:

  • Acqui­si­tions and sales of com­mer­cial prop­er­ties.
  • Com­mer­cial and retail leas­ing for shop­ping cen­tre own­ers, includ­ing advis­ing and prepar­ing leas­es in com­pli­ance with the rel­e­vant leg­is­la­tion.
  • Com­mer­cial and retail leas­ing for ten­ants, includ­ing advis­ing and nego­ti­at­ing the terms of the lease agree­ments.
  • Liquor licens­ing appli­ca­tions.
  • Com­pa­ny and busi­ness acqui­si­tion and sale.
  • Com­mer­cial and joint ven­ture agree­ments.
  • Lit­i­ga­tion and dis­pute res­o­lu­tion in rela­tion to com­mer­cial and prop­er­ty dis­putes, includ­ing pro­ceed­ings in Tri­bunals and the Dis­trict and Supre­me Courts of New South Wales.
  • Prepa­ra­tion of loan, secu­ri­ty and ancil­lary doc­u­ments for project and var­i­ous types of finance facil­i­ties.
  • Pro­bate and Let­ters of Admin­is­tra­tion for deceased estates.

Elaine is flu­ent in Man­dar­in and has exten­sive expe­ri­ence in trans­lat­ing legal doc­u­ments from Eng­lish to Chi­ne­se, and vice ver­sa. Her com­bined legal exper­tise and lan­guage skills have proven to be a ben­e­fit to many of the clients of Aequitas Lawyers, par­tic­u­lar­ly those who are under­tak­ing cor­po­rate and/or com­mer­cial trans­ac­tions with Chi­na or Chi­ne­se clients in Aus­tralia.
